Holiday Musings

I received the Photoshop Elements software from my husband for my birthday in November. However it was not until I was off for Christmas that I had time to install it and begin to learn how to use it. I must say it has way more functionality than I will ever use…but there are a few things that I am going to master. I love to learn new things and this is definitely something I will be spending some time on.

For Christmas my family felt I needed a little spice in my life and I am now a Wii enthusiast….I LOVE IT…I have made my personal AVITAR in my likeness….and I am quickly working my way up the tennis ladder with a goal of being at the professional level before next Christmas! I have also challenged my son-in-law to a boxing match as well…

Being that I am a baby boomer I have heard of Facebook but never seen it in action. When Kelly was here over Christmas I was amazed by how frequently she went to the laptop in the kitchen to check Facebook. From there in my kitchen she was able to interact with lots and lots of friends all over the United States. She found out what they were doing at that moment and what they had on their mind. It seemed that all of them are constantly updating their Facebook page with tidbits of information and interesting thoughts. ( I liked the one about not wanting to pack for the holiday visit to the family….just planned to buy a new wardrobe when she got there)

And the mass text Christmas Message is a new one for me as well. I am embarrassed to admit that we do not even have text capability in our cell phone package….However, we can receive and did get several Christmas text messages. I prefer the Christmas card with the annual holiday letter myself…..just showing my age again.

Ken and I tried to use as many of our “Attraction Coupon Book” coupons between Christmas and the end of the year as we could. Since I rarely cook we go out to eat most of the time. With the two of us and our schedules that works. We managed to use most of them and had some very good meals at half the cost with the coupons.

When Ken asked me how many Christmas presents I purchased online I quickly replied, “ a bunch.” When I began to really look at it in fact it was all but two gift cards and a pair of wine glasses…..I literally bought everything else online… and I buy a LOT of Christmas presents. I’ve really gotten into the sites where you get promotional codes or coupons before you go online to shop. Retailmenot.com is still my favorite. I also use pricegrabber.com, shopping.com and mysimon.com to compare prices.

Enough of this meandering...senseless dribble....Do you want to see a Jonah Picture?
