With guidance from our newly licensed contractor in the family....Ken confirmed his plans to add storage in the ceiling of our shop. So Saturday he purchased the supplies and with me as his trusty laborer we got started. Ken cut the opening and braced the rafters and then I saw some action. Matt loaned us his high powered pneumatic nail gun that shoots 16 penny three inch long nails. I was the designated nailer and Ken was the saw-man and supervisor. So up the 8 foot ladder I went and after getting the first piece nailed I climbed up on the new floor and nailed the rest. I had to get Ken's earplugs since the noise was so loud and I was a bit surprised that sparks fly when it ejects the nail. Also I needed the kneeling pad that I use for gardening. It is no fun staying on your knees on top of plywood. From my perspective there is a whole new appreciationf for those guys I see on roofs with a big nail gun in their hands. There is no telling what the pneumatic force is to drive a nail that large...but suffice it to say... don't ever get in front of anyone with this man eater in their hands....definitely deserving of a place on the most deadly weapons list. The new storage area looks great and is now ready for us to fill it up. Who knows...maybe DIY will be calling soon for some advice...or maybe Norm Abram has a project he needs help with...we'll keep you posted when they call.

All the different websites out there, this is by far my favorite one. Good job on the extra storage. Team work will get you a long ways. This is great to be able to keep up with everybody.
