About That Dimple!

A friend who had recently seen the new pictures of Jonah on Webshots commented that he was starting to look more like Kelly and that he even had her dimple! Her email read....Is it just me, or does that child look a LOT like his Momma?! Even down to the dimple!

Well there is a story behind the dimple. I have dimples and Matt has one dimple on his right cheek....but Kelly was not born with a dimple. Her dimple was man made. No....not plastic surgery as you might be thinking. It was a much less expensive procedure than that. It was more like roller skating surgery. Her dimple is no dimple at all....it is a dent in her cheekbone. On close observation, you will notice that it is much higher on her cheek than most dimples.

And now.... the rest of the story. For those of you in Greenville, NC in the early 90's you know that every kid in town went to Sportsworld on Saturday mornings to rollerskate. Kelly was no exception and spent many of her Saturdays there skating with Matt and friends. On one Saturday she was unable to stop herself and fell head first into one of the benches hitting here cheekbone and causing not only a knot and bruise but what resulted in a very nice dimple in her cheek.

So, now you know the truth...the dimple on Jonah's cheek is not inherited directly from Kelly....but she did have a part, as did Kris, in putting that beautiful smile and cute little dimple on that handsome boy.
